When a person is already treated with chlamydia do doctors still check to see if it affect the bladder? |
im being treated for chlamydia and i have to go back in three weeks and well if it comes back negative does that mean everything is ok or the doctor still going to check if i have scarring? They will probably do another culture to test and make sure the chlamydia is gone. After that, there is nothing else to do until your next scheduled exam (unless you start having some kind of symptoms). There is no way to check for scarring, it is just assumed if you have difficulty getting pregnant later that you probably have scarring. Source(s): medical practice Well your question is little ambiguous. In case a cystitis(infection of bladder) is suspected and this was the reason for starting treatment one may have to look at bladder for extent of scarring and decide on further line of treatment to rule out potential complications. But if you were started for an ascending UTi the infection will subside after treatment and one need not worry about bladder unless you have some troubling symptoms pertaining to bladder. Please see the webpages for more details on Chlamydia A follow-up evaluation may be done in 4 weeks to determine if the infection has been cured. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/chlamydia... ewww...you have chlamydia? that's disgusting. maybe you should check before sleeping with everybody, huh? |
