I have just been told i have chlamydia and having treatment do i need to take a retest after? |
ive bee sleeping with my ex for 4 months and we finished it and ive had a regular sexual partner for the last 2 months now. ive just been told i have chlamydia and on antibiotics. ive told my ex and he getting checked out and my reguar sexual partner had a test done. but my best friend and cousin as slept with one of these guys and do they need to get checked out aswell? also do their partners need to get checked out? ive made a list of about 10/15 people who need to get checked out Anyone who has been with any of the names you have listed needs to be checked out as soon as possible. Chlamydia can have very serious long term effects and the symptoms don't always show up quickly. It is important to remain celibate while taking the antibiotics and once you have finished your course of treatment, you do need to return for a check-up to be sure that it has been completely eradicated. Sometimes it takes more than one course of treatment and another antibiotic may need to be used if the first one was not successful. The last thing you want to do while treating the illness, is reinfect you and your partner or spread it to others. Kudos to you, by the way, for doing the responsible thing and notifying your partners. Not a lot of folks do that, which makes treating the illness very difficult. Peace and good luck to you, Beki Everyone in that circle of love needs to go and get tested. And it is also safe not to proceed in having sex with anyone else until you do get tested and treated. Youre not even supposed to be having sex while your'e on the medicine. Because you could reinfect you and your partner. It is best to wait until youve finished the medicine and your symptoms have cleared up. And be sure not to have sex with any of those infected people anymore. Most of all protect yourself because the last thing you want is something funky that you cant get rid of. My OB/GYN.And STD research. |
