Is it possible that a person can get chlamydia and their only parter doesnt have it? The only one u were with? |
Im 36 weeks pregnant. I was told that sometime during my pregnancy i was infected somehow. I havent had sex for MONTHS.... and when i WAS having sex, i was only with ONE person EVER. But that person doesnt have it... and i never ever cheated... Is this possible???? YES. A few caveats: -you were told you were infected at some time during pregnancy.....does that mean you tested negative at initial screening, but tested positive at a later date? The initial test may have been a false negative (it does happen, though it is fairly rare) or ..... -it is uncommon (but not rare), where someone will acquire a sexually transmitted infection a significant amount of time before the onset of their first symptoms. These situations are challenging for the people involved in the relationship. -or, your partner could have infected you and then his infection cleared (with or without treatment) before he was tested. Whenever these issues arise in a relationship, I advise you to both go and speak to an experienced public health nurse at a STI clinic. Communication is key!
