Should I add a cholesterol-busting spread to my diet even though I haven't used butter or margarine for years? |
I do have high cholesterol, but eliminated butter, margarine, or any other spread decades ago. Does it make any sense to add Smart Balance, Benecol or Take Control to help the cholesterol situation in spite of living without spreads of any kind for so long? You could use flax oil instead. Not for cooking, though, the high heat ruins it, you just add a spoonful to your salad or other foods. It helps. I think it's always better to stay without the alternative. It's just healthier anyways. I don't drink soda, and I don't drink diet sodas either, because no matter what, they're not good for you. |

Count the amount of fat and cholesterol on the box, or if you had 2 servings than multiply by 2... I'm sure they're not nearly as high as pork or beef. ... |
