Is a cholesterol level 5+to high for a women of 52? |
last week the dr gave me tablets for cholestreol as its 5+ is that high and what should it be for a middle aged women thanks Level 5 is not massively high. Your doctor has given you the tablets as precaution. he probabily also reccomended you cut down on sugar, salt, and hydrogenated fats, and also probabily reccomended you excercise more the max it should be is about 4.5. i am on tablets everyday for my cholesterol. i am currently 13.4. I don't know about women, but my doctor said he expects a healthy man to have a cholesterol of 5 or below. I am 68 and on statins , my level is 4.
