What food or drink can cut down cholesterol?

To actually lower your cholesterol (LDL) eat lots of oatmeal. You need to eat 1 1/2 cups a day. Cheerios also lowers cholesterol, but you need to eat 3 cups a day (they fail to mention that on the tv ads). And make sure you use 1% or skim milk with it. A new study has shown that 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon daily could possibly lower your LDL as well. Put that on your oatmeal ;)

To prevent your cholesterol from increasing, eat lean cuts of meat, trim off any visible fat from beef, and pork, eat white meat chicken with no skin, avoid butter, heavy cream, whole milk products and cheese. As for eggs, you can still eat 3 yolks a week, even with high cholesterol. Egg whites are a green light..eat as many as you want.

Cholesterol is also about good cholesterol (HDL) which you'll want to keep high or raise. make sure to include healthy fats from plants and fish. This includes nuts, olive oil, avacados, salmon, herring, and sardines.

Any food that is high in fiber can lower your cholesterol.
