Suggestions for lowering my cholesterol?


my total cholesterol is 232. i'm 24 years old and my family has terrible history with cholesterol. my ldl is 168 and the doctor says my triglycerides are fine. i'd still like to lower my cholesterol though. i know it's going to be diet and exercise. i drink scotch in place of beer and it's time to cut down on the fried food, but i'm just looking for other suggestions.

Take some heart healthy supplements such as fish oil. Absolutely NO TRANS FAT. That means almost all fast food is out. Eat food that is rich in omega-3 fatty acids such as fish, and cage free eggs. And of course... balanced diet and exercise!

You can try a supplement called red rice yeast. I take it and lowered my cholesterol from 216 to 190 in 2 months. It is inexpensive too ! You should also focus on good nutrition and exercise. Stop drinking the scotch too - you can use the money wasted on that to get your supplements and get to the gym. Good luck !!

Take a Fish/Flaxseed oil pill. Try eating cheerios in the morning. work out, no fried food.
