I don't kno wwhat to eat. My cholesterol is high?

I'm looking at every damn menu for breakfast and none of them have anything healthy all ( eggs bacon sausage pancakes.ETC) what can i have I'm Starving?

Avoid anything that contains animal fats, shellfish and coconuts and you'll be ok.

Mine is really high too plus I have an inherited tendency for hardening of the arteries early in age that makes it even more deadly if I don't watch it.
You can have your greasy breakfast maybe once every other month but not every day.
Fruits, cereals, low fat milk, bagels, english muffins, lite butter (margarine is worse than real butter for triglycerides), pancakes are Ok w/o a ton of butter - just a tad. Juices, tea & coffee.
Eggs are truely not that bad for you if you read about the reseacrch, but like everything - eat in moderation. Lay off heavy, fatty meats and try and get more veggies in and you will be OK
Exercise also lowers your cholesteral.

To reduce your cholesterol or limit your cholesterol you should be looking for low fat or no fat types of food. This does not mean that you will starve at all. Just restrict or reduce the amount of fat that is in the food that you eat. Grilled beef/chicken instead of fried. Fish instead of beef/chicken. Fresh vegetables instead of pasta or potatoes. I have reduced my cholesterol significantly without sacraficing flavor or satisfaction just by changing the types of food that I eat and how it is prepared. Prepackaged food has more preservatives, sodium, etc. than fresh produce or food. Good luck.

I had the same problem, so I ate oatmeal, cheerios, cream of wheat, and whole grain/wheat pancakes. If I did the pancakes it was the ones from IHOP. (harvest grain and nut) They are really good, especially topped with cinnamon apples. I eat bacon and eggs once a week. My cholesterol is now 164. I didn't only change breakfast, but everything. Less fried food and more baked foods, salads, fruits. It wasn't that big a change for me because I already ate a lot of fruits and veggies. It was more the change in meats for me than anything. Eat whole wheat/grain breads instead of white.

Healthy Coconut Oatmeal

3 1/2 cups plain or vanilla soy milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups rolled oats
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup dried cranberries
1/3 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1 (8 ounce) container plain yogurt (optional)
3 tablespoons honey (optional)

Pour the milk and salt into a saucepan, and bring to a boil. Stir in the oats, maple syrup, raisins, and cranberries. Return to a boil, then reduce heat to medium. Cook for 5 minutes. Stir in walnuts and coconut, and let stand until it reaches your desired thickness. Spoon into serving bowls, and top with yogurt and honey, if desired.

i substitute dates for the cranberries.

great with chopped almonds and extra coconut.

porridge oats are supposed to be very good and i try to eat them every breakfast. I have to admit though that the taste is not up to much if you are going to refrain also from sugar, cream etc with them. However if you persevere you will find that you get used to this strict diet and can stomach it. Unfortunately the first time you give in and go back to sausages and bacon etc, you will find it difficult to have your oats again!

You can eat egg WHITES (or egg beaters) and make scrambled eggs or omelets ....oatmeal or cheerios are good too. There are other cold cereals that say "heart healthy" and have a red heart on the package, that should be good too .....Lots of fruit & vegetables (coconut has HIGH cholesterol) - Salmon is especially good for lowering high cholesterol, but all fish is good for you (and LEAN meat: extra-lean turkey or 96/4 ground sirloin) ..... beans and rice once a day are supposed to be good too; almonds & avocados are good too

how about pancakes with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, blackberries with fat free syrup...make them whole wheat and you have not only a delicious, but nutritous b/fast...also oatmeal with fruit stirred into it..it helps lower cholesterol too...french toast made with eggbeaters and baked in oven is absolutely wonderful...buy real french baguette and make thick slices (no cholesterol, no fat) and put in baking dish and cover with egg substitute overnight...then pop in oven in morning...fantastic...so many things you can make..just be creative...make a thick fruit drink with low fat milk...be surprised how that satisfies and fills...

Breakfast is the worse for you
You could have toast, juice, oatmeal, bagels, ( margarine is ok butter is not ), jam and jellies are ok english muffin

lowfat yogurt w/ fresh fruit and granola
fresh or canned fruit and lowfat cottage cheese
lean ham on toast w/ a poached egg (eggs are OK on a low cholesterol diet!)
peanut butter on an apple

Egg white omelets are great. Egg Beaters are fantastic. Scramble them with onion, peppers & mushrooms, really good. Yogurt should be okay - add almonds and diced fruit.

Oatmeal and Garlic in everything
