Once you have high blood pressure and high cholesterol do you always have it??

I am kind of worried about this issue because I am 19 and taking meds for both of these problems. Will I always have to take meds for them? Is there something that I can do so that I can lower both of these levels?? Any advice would be great!

2 years ago I had both in the worst way

BP 220/110
chol = 780

I changed my lifestyle and now both are under control without medication.

BP 126/84
chol = 95

I am dedicated to not needing medication to maintain my normal health parameters. So I am very strict about what I put into my body now as opposed to when I was younger (heavy drinking, smoking, eating rich and fatty foods all the time, too much sodium (not just salt either)) as well as keeping a very rigorous exercise program.
I was lucky and my body responded very well to the new lifestyle. You will have to try and don't cheat yourself. Always work with your doctor too.

I am 23 and have had high blood and cholesterol
from eating junk food and doing drugs and alcohol all the time before and I lowered it with eating oatmeal for breakfast and going to the gym, also
get protein like eggs and fish is very good, but for
cholesterol , oatmeal and salads with tomatoes and hot peppers are good and exercise , you can acomplish this with lifestyle changes and at 19 you dont need medications for that , at 19 I polluted my body with all kinds of crap like drugs,
im sober now, and the medication for blood pressure (propranoral) can damage your liver
so just do lifestyle changes and throw the meds i the trash.

Exercise- that will probably be your best bet.
Do you smoke? If so, stop smoking. Don't eat foods that are too high in fat or too salty.

No thet can be lowered
