Are ritz crackers bad for your cholesterol? |
My husband is working on lowering his cholesterol and he likes to eat Ritz crackers, club crackers and saltines. I read somewhere that crackers are bad for your cholesterol, is this true? Yes, they have fat in them and lots of carbs. If he is trying to reduce his cholesterol he needs to find something else to snack on. If he is not diabetic, he can take niacin for high cholesterol. It will reduce it dramatically. My mom's doctor put her on it and in a month her cholesterol was 152, down from 313. Now she keeps taking it every day to keep it down. She takes flush free niacin, 500 mg every day. (1 capsule) You can get it at the walmart in the vitamin section. It's cheap and does not have side effects like other medications... |
