What causes one to have very low cholesterol and blood pressure?

I'm asking this because my father recently got bad his blood test results and both his cholesterol and blood pressure came out to be very low. But he eats so much steak (he loves red meat), eggs, and other cholesterol-rich foods so it doesn't make any sense. Any ideas of what could have caused it? And how dangerous is it? Thanks.

His total cholesterol is 105 (normal is 125-200) and his HDL is 25 (normal is greater or equal to 40).

Cholesterol levels are partly related to diet and partly related to how much cholesterol your body manufactures. It's genetics that determine how the body regulates cholesterol levels. Your father is very lucky to have genes that keep his cholesterol low. There is nothing wrong with your father unless his blood pressure is low enough to cause symptoms such as dizziness or fatigue. It sounds like he has excellent cardiovascular health.

You dad is so lucky...does he eat a typical Mediteranean diet?...they have been shown often to result in low levels of cgolesterol and BP....for some reason (they think its the Olive oils etc) people who eat like this have very healthy hearts.
His HDL is quite low so I am not sure what that means or if its a bad thing.
Maybe he enjoys a red wine with his meals as well...that has also been shown to be good for heart health.
