High Cholesterol but low blood pressure?

I haven't been tested in nearly 3 years but last time I was tested for cholesterol it was high. But I was 300 lbs and not a good eater.

Now I lost the lbs. Exercise fairly regularly (have to being in the Air Force ROTC) and I eat pretty well. I'm on Atkins right now and I decided to go on stage one for a week to make weight for ROTC. Problem is the cholesterol gets high fast.

I want to know that if I'm eating around 200% Cholesterol for about a week or two per day would that be harmful to me?

My Stats
Age: 24
Weight: 205ish
Body Fat: 21% to 22%
Blood pressure: Usually around 90/60 when mildly stressed
Family History: None on moms side, great uncle on dads side died of a massive heart attack but he was nearly 70.
Race: Primarily Italian, Irish, English Albanian, and, Croatian.

I have read some articles suggesting that cholesterol that is a little 'high' is actually good for you. As for me, it doesn't matter what I eat. It is always good or below normal. After eating bacon for three months at every meal, I finally had one reading that was slightly above normal...

What you might want to do is eat stuff that brings up your good cholesterol (aka HDL, high density lipoproteins). 'Good' cholesterol has the potential of bringing down 'bad' cholesterol (aka LDL, low density lipoproteins) Eating fish will help with that. But then fish has the problem that it might contain heavy metals and other contaminants. This might not be good for you either. The best thing is to eat small fish since they tend to have lower amounts of contaminants.

Eating more fiber is also known to bring down cholesterol too and you should be able to incorporate high fiber foods even if you are doing atkins. I believe the best choice for this is lettuce, (highest fiber and lowest in carb.)

Thirdly, exercise also brings down cholesterol.

Also, hydrogenated oils (aka 'trans fats') are known to bring cholesterol levels up. Additionally, High fructose corn syrup is corn that is artificially and chemically processed causing your body to metabolize it in such a form that it significantly raises your triglicerides (another form of 'bad' cholesterol). Although, you being on the Atkins diet, I doubt high fructose corn syrup is the problem.

You may have low blood pressure because being on the atkins diet might be bringing down your blood sugar far too low. Exercise also makes you have low blood pressure. If you think your blood pressure is too low, there are things you can do like eat lots of cinnamon which is known to bring up your blood pressure [but cinnamon also brings down your blood sugar] or drink a glass of salt water (on occasion).

I hope this helps.

What are you talking about? Atkins diets will improve blood lipids. Dietary cholesterol, is not the same as blood lipids. You can consume all the cholesterol that you want. You can and should, INCREASE your saturated fat intake. The only fats that you should eliminate are, Trans Fats. The reason that your cholesterol numbers improve with Atkins is, you are controlling your insulin levels and without carbohydrates, triglycerides will fall. It only takes a couple of days.
Again, eat all the cholesterol, such as eggs, that you want. Avoid oxidized cholesterol such as Egg Beaters or powdered cheese.
Also, Atkins is outdated. He allowed too much processed, artificially sweetened food.
