Do people with chronic fatigue syndrome/ME ever recover completely or is it something they always have?

thanks :)

also if u have it, what symtoms did u have that convinced your doc??

I know some people never recover to any degree, and even so bad their bodies just waste away.

Some people go through their whole lives just having good days & bad days.

But some do recover to an extent that, with watching, it never becomes an issue again.

im not sure, i really really hope so!!! cuz i have it too and no one understands. ive tried everything but every day is differnt. if you are feeling actually pain and soreness with it then you probably have fibromyalgia which is what i was diagnosed with. that sucks even more! :( good luck

Some Doctors don't even think it exists.
Others get tired of hearing about it.
I know someone who was diagnosed a few years back, and they still seem to suffer from the same problems.

I have a workmate who had ME for 2 years
she is back at work so there is hope, she has bad days but we are all supportive
she recognises the signs and we try to make sure she has an easier day if she needs it
trouble is all those people out there who say they have ME when they obviously havent, theyre the ones who give the genuine people a bad name

It affects different people different ways, I have known some apparent sufferers recover over a period of a couple of years and some deteriorate. try the link below for more information.

Yes you can totally recover although it often takes a long time, and an awful lot of effort on your part. Like everthing in life if you give in to it you will never beat it. Start ever day with a plan, things to do startby doing the hardest task down to the smallest and if you finish your list the satisfaction it will give you is a great boost. And helps on the recovery path.
