How to deal with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E)?

I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue, but find myself awake all night and asleep during the day. I have been off work for over 3 months now, and as you can imagine money is tight, bored, and i am on my own all day.

My symptoms vary from day to day, and after just suffering a miscarriage i feel even worse than before. I dont want to see or talk to anyone, and feel very emotional.

Is there anything i can do to make myself feel better, have more, energy, to help get a sleep pattern etc

If you think you have some symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia (a chronic condition characterized by fatigue, widespread pain in your muscles, ligaments and tendons, and multiple tender points), the most personalized and patient-specific information the best person to talk to is your doctor. He or she will be able to give the patient and their families, with permission, the believed problem, what will help with the fatigue, and ways for others to respond to and treat the patient. Sometimes all it takes is for a loved one to hear the words from a health care professional鈥檚 mouth to really get the idea of what is happening with their friend or family member. It is also helpful for the patient and their family to have detailed instructions for caring for the affected person.

Having chronic fatigue syndrome that you may have not known, you can't take care of your condition correctly or explain it to others if you have doubts yourself about your problem. Doctors only have so much time to spend with each of their patients, so it may be necessary to take to the computer waves and do some research on the subject yourself. The biggest thing to watch out for is the respectability of the website you are trusting. The last thing that will help with any of the aspects of the illness is to get something about the treatment or cause of the disease incorrect. On the other hand, having a reputable source to quote to those who don't understand is always a benefit. If you have been diagnosed with a specific chronic fatigue syndrome, it鈥檚 far easier to get the information you seek. For example looking up fibromyalgia syndrome will give more specific results than a generic search for fatigue syndromes.

There is a great book called, "Going Against the Grain", that addresses this, as well as other problems. This book talks about wheat and how it can affect people. My mother who has had this as a chronic, but on and off thing (as well as headaches, auras, rashes, diarreha, etc.) for many years, was feeling terrible. Just a couple days ago, she just tried what the book states (no wheat products) and is feeling so much better. She was feeling: confused, fatigued, lethargic, irritable, unable to cope, etc. Her neck stiffness and pain is also resolving. I hope this continues, but I think the book is well worth looking into. You will need to lay off caffiene, too.
