Anybody who works in hospitals, what is the Clinical Trials Unit?

I ask b/c that is where i am working now, helping a coodinator there

It's usually a section of a hospital where clinical trials are done. Such as, research on various disease processes to enable advancement for a cure and the testing of new drugs and therapies. They may even be split up into several sub-departments, such as the HIV/AIDS, Parkinson's, stroke, or Alzheimer's units, for example.

a clinical trial unit is where they could be giving you a drug for a certain disorder or you could be given a placibo(which is made up of sugar or nothing) just to see how they work for you

or even deal with rear disorders
