Help with clinical trials?

Hey just wondering if anyone could help me out. I am 16 and want to volunteer for clinical trails. I hear it is a great way to make money. Could anyone tell me how to get started? I have tried researching hospitals and clinic's in my area but I either couldn't find anything for clinical trails or I am not old enough. Or the trails are simply not available to the public - which I don't exactly understand..who would they be available to? Any kind of help or advice would be great, thanks.

You're doing pretty much all you can but try looking in the newspaper, they sometimes place ads for people. I saw one and had my mom call (figured it'd be better since I'm not 18), and I would've been able to do it but it required an MRI, which would be dangerous for me because I have a permanent orthodontic retainer. There IS good money in it, I would've made like $600 had I been able to participate. But I totally feel your pain, I'm 16 too, can't find a job ANYWHERE, and I really need money.

If they're not open to the public, then they're probably only open to patients of whichever doctor is conducting the study. It's probably easier for them that way; all they have to do is ask someone whom they know is eligible whereas if it were open to the public, those who are interested would probably have to see them first so they can look at medical records etc. Y'know, cause they have to make sure you don't have any conditions that could affect the results, things like that.
