Clinical trials for cancer patients in the UK?

My brother in law has Leukemia and wants to take part of a clinical trial in the UK. Does that mean he will receive treatment for his illness during this trial? How / where can he apply for a trial in the UK ( he is an EU citizen) ?

Yes, if your brother takes part in a clinical trial, he will receive treatment for his illness - that's because the trial is an experiment testing the effectiveness of treatments. He will receive treatments that have not been proven to be necessarily safe and effective though. You never know... maybe they will work.
