How do I get rid of a cold/flu including a painful sore throat?

I have a very painful sore throat but to clear it up I take TYROZETS tablets.
I have a blocked stuffy nose as well, but is it a cold or a flu?
What do you recommend to make it all go away?

It's probably a cold, if you aren't having any extra aches and pains.

I just got over one. I drank LOTS of liquids: Tea, coffee, bouillon, water, and grapefruit juice. And I used lozenges for a sore throat, and steam to help keep my head clear. And at night I used Afrin to keep my nose from dripping while I was trying to sleep. A spoonful of honey helps with soreness too.

Bed rest - Hot baths, and im not sure about a good sore throat treatment im afraid, i know honey is pretty good as it has vitamins, it gives you energy(sugar) and soothes your throat a bit

One or Two shot's of whiskey and honey,and four blanket's to sweat it out.Two shot's seem to work better,but dont over do it or will will be hung over and feeling twice as awful.

sweat it out tonight, go to bed with a jumper and tracksuit bottoms and have the heating on, always makes me feel better ion the morning.

tAKE TWO PARACETAMOL EVERY FOUR HOURS. tRY HONEY AND LEMON IN HOY BOILED WATER. dRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS. sHOULD START TO IMPROVE AFTER ABOUT THREE/FOUR DAYS.

Night & day nurce, it is like magic.

Drink hot tea with honey

My ma in law swears gargling some salt water soothes a sore throat. i've never tried it as gargling makes me heave lol.

raw garlic..it works...crush 3 cloves and swallow with water...yes your breath will smell..but your throat wont hurt.
