Is it true that sitting on cold surfaces?

hurts female reproductive organs, or is bad for them? Also, would swimming in very cold pools everday (jumping in suddenly because im on a swim team) affect them? I think it may be affecting my periods.

I'm 2 years into nursing school, and have 5 children, and have never heard anything like this. The only thing jumping into a very cold pool could do, is raise your heart rate. I honestly see no correlation with cold and reproductive organs whatsoever. It's sounds like one of those crazy wives tales like if your pregnant and raise your hands over your head the cord could wrap around the baby's neck, (I mean think of anatomy and how ridiculous that sounds), etc.! If your periods are messed up, contact your gyno. for a woman's check up and possibly birth control or something to regulate them. It helps!

I don't know anything about sitting on a could surface to ever be true for hurting the reproductive organs.

But as for the jumping in the pool everyday hurt you...No..it wont hurt you. I use to be on a swim team also. Hasn't effected me.

Swimming on the other hand may just be what is affecting your periods. I don't know how active (exercising) you are but when you work out and or change how you work out or how much you workout that can effect your period.

your body's core temp is maintained regardless of most external stimulus.....no, it's not true that sitting on a cold surface will do anything to your internal organs, female or otherwise, nor will jumping into a swimming pool. Being very active and extremely fit, can alter your cycle for a time until the body adjusts to it.

never heard it and highly doubt any of it is true,,,female organs are INSIDE the body and protected. if you are highly active and athletic that can affect your periods. think of all the lil girls that sit/play in the snow? or women who go snow mobile riding. i have never heard of such a thing

No that cannot affect your period or your organs!

Absolutely not.

Not true at all....
