Cold Sores!!! ARGH! How do I get rid of it!?

How in the world can I get completely rid of it in the shortest amount of time possible. Please I really need some advice on this one. They make me really self conscious which is hard. It's on part of my lip and above and just so ugly. I'm putting two things on it right now but i was wondering if anyone knows of anything that works better and FASTER. thanks

well i'm using releev and it's supposed to heal it within a day. not heal but stop it from spreading. the other one is campo-phenique which is supposed to dry it up and so far it looks like it really is doing that. I just have this big trip starting wednesday and it's a bummer. Also my grandma used to get em and she was a nurse so she told me to take these pills called BD Lactinex... Don't know

i have some good and bad news..... bad news first...no matter what since they are already formed and you are using a topical cream they will take a number of days to heal. good news tho...see your doctor asap and tell them that you have been having breakouts and they can perscribe you an antibiotic to take as soon as you feel one coming on. it will stop it from coming and no one will ever know you were having an outbreak. good luck! i know they suck but they will be gone before you know it!

Unless you really like hanging around clinics, there is generally no need to visit a doctor to get cold sores treated. Non-prescription ointments are available to ease the pain, and an oral analgesic may also help. That said, however, there is a remote chance of complications. For instance, if the infection spreads to the eyes, the result can be blindness. There is also increased risk of more serious infections for people with defective immune systems or eczema, and also for infants. So if you are in a group at increased risk, or if you are having severe symptoms, or if there is an itching in your eye while you have cold sores, or if you have a crush on your medical care provider, it鈥檚 best to see your doctor. Whatever you do, avoid touching your eye after touching a cold sore. Wash your hands frequently to avoid spreading the disease.

I've had cold sores through out my child hood that would cover my entire bottom lip - the vitamin Llysine is the only thing that worked for me. Eberything else I tried only made the cold sores worse. Now when i feel one coming on i start taking on Llysine pill a day within about 3 - 5 days its gone if i don't catch it right a way otherwise it goes away before getting out of control. Found in the vitamin section

Try It -- :)
