Heerpys? cold sore? friend? stds?

k well my friend let this guy eat her out and now he has a cold sore on his bottom lip... wats that mean? is it from her?

It is possible that he got it from her, but it is also very possible that he already had the cold sore virus dormant in his body, or that he got it from someone else from sharing a drink. Your friend should also be a little concerned that he could have given her the cold sore virus. Here are a couple of helpful links that discuss cold sores.

cold sores are rather common. like the person above said the virus can lay dormant for years. in fact a lot of people are exposed to the virus as infants by their parents and it does not flare up until later in life. either the flu, a cold or high and unusual amount of stress can trigger the virus. when this is the case as an adult the cold sore tends to be less severe than when an adult who wasn't exposed as a child. along with the sore, if he wasn't exposed as an infant, he would have a mild fever, pain in his knees, back, head aches, feeling of low energy and may have trouble concentrating. mind you this isn't always the case but more so than not. taking Vitamin C when he feels the sore flaring up will help it to clear up faster. wearing lip balm w/sun protection will reduce how often it flares. there are many strains of the herpies virus. two of them are : HSV-1 is the usual cause of cold sores on the lips and can also affect the eyes. HSV-2 is the strain that causes genital herpies. i wouldn't feel safe to say that one can't cause the other. however, i have never heard of someone getting a cold sore from vaginal herpies. if she has the HSV-2 virus and he feels he may have been exposed the best way to know is to have a dr. do a blood test. this is the only sure way to tell what he may have been exposed to. he should also ask this girl if she knows rather she has the virus or not. if privacy is a concern. i believe as long as he is 17 he can go to his local city hall and get tested anonimously. or if under 17 he can go to a local Planned Parenthood. if he has either virus knowing which one will help him be able to take care of himself in the best manner. like if it is HSV2 there are medications he can take on a regular basis to help prevent outbreaks. someone with the virus can have no signs or symptoms and can pass the virus even when it is not active. your friend can also look up certain foods that are known to trigger outbreaks and learn to avoid them or eat them in lesser amounts. gd lk and i hope he's doing better.

you can never know. herpes can "hide" in your body for a up to years after you've been exposed to it. so he could of got it from drinking off someone's glass or he could of gotten it from oral sex...
