How can I help my cold sore?10pts. |
I have what I believe to be a cold sore on my upper lip. It's red and has white in the middle. It hurts a lot, to eat to drink, etc. I've been putting carmex on it, but what else can I do to help it? check out this site... There is no cure for cold sores, nor is there a cure for the herpes simplex virus (HSV) that causes them. Most cold sores will go away on their own. But medications may slightly reduce the duration of cold sores and sometimes prevent a future outbreak. Abreva is good also Herpacin L or call your doctor and ask for Zovirax Ointment. The Zovirax actually heals the cold sore not just treat the symptoms like Abreva and Herpacin L because cold sores are a herpes virus. Get some tea tree oil and apply it! It's a natural remedy and it really works. I had a cold sore in my mouth and it took care of it. It also clears up pimples. Buy a product called "Camerax" It is lip balm. It works everytime....just put it on everyday till your cold sore dissappers. start talking to it, help it develop a personality, you never know you might fall in love. Abreeva does not work for me, I get prescription Valtrex from the doctor and take it as the first tingle appears. It can prevent them from forming at all, if taken soon enough. i would probably use some acetone, because it cleans and makes small pores, and then i'd apply abreva. get Abreeva (small tube $15) it's really good |
