My mother keeps on getting sick these days- colds, bronchitis, coughs...she has hypertension so she takes pill

to regulate that... I want to give her echinacea but I am not sure if there would be any side effects since she is taking those pills...please advise!

Echinacea is a great immune system booster and might really help your mother... but I wouldn't suggest asking here about an interaction with the drug.
Your best (and safest) bet would be to ask a pharmacist if there are any interactions listed between the drugs and supplements you're taking. Doctors and pharmacists both have access to a database of drug and supplement interactions and they can tell you quickly if you can safely take them together or not.... anyone here will just have a best guess from searching on the internet (which isn't always accurate, as we all know) ;-) Good luck!

Echinacea is only suitable for short term use and long term use may actually weaken your immune system.

To boost your immune system some extra vitamin C every day helps. A suitable amount would be 1 or 2 gm per day or even less.

The two natural antibiotics colloidal silver and garlic oil also help to boost your immune system if you take them every day.
