How to sleep with bad cold? |
I had a stuffed nose when i lay down but when I stand up it totally clears up. The back of my upper almost to my nose throat is throbbing. It feels like I've been hacking and coughing. I've taken Nyquil to help me sleep but it's not helped. Try propping yourself as upright as you can with pillows in bed. If you find that is too uncomfortable, try to sleep on the couch or big chair in the living room. You can also try having a cup of caffeine free tea with honey in it. Other than that, there is not much else you can do. Hot showers! Lots of em. It loosens and relaxes you and cleans out your nose and upper respiratory. My daughter was in the hospital with pneumonia and they tillted her on her stomach head down a patted her on the back with a cupped hand to loosen the flem in her lungs. So if you don't have someone to do that and don't have an electicric tilting hospital bed and a machine to breath in steamy air...a shower works. Try some Vick's Vapo-Rub... its that minty stuff that you can rub on your neck or chest and the vapors clear your nose out. If you don't have one of those a hot shower will help, and then you gotta hock up the gunk in your throat while its all soft. Sounds gross... I've had nights like that. Nyquil will help you sleep try a little vicks under the nose it works for me |
