What are YOUR best remedies for a cold? |
My husband is suffering from a cold. He has minor muscle aches, major chest congestion (with some cough, but not a lot), and nasal congestion. I am looking for what YOU do to beat a cold. I have read many ideas, but wondering what YOU have tried lately that has actually WORKED for you. I want to know either your best home remedies, or which ever over-the-counter meds you have tried like Theraflu, Zycam, ect.... For the common cold, I have always used Zicam Rapid Melts with excellent results (make sure you read the instructions on how and when to take it). The best old fashioned receipe for the common cold is, take a mug filled 3/4 full of milk, add a tablespoon of lemon juice, add 1 teaspoon of honey and about 3 shots of brandy, add together in the mug, then put into the microwave foe 30 seconds, get your jim jams on and go to bed, and happily sip away at your newly disscovered cold remedy, Bye the heck, you,ll feel a lot better in the morning, promise you this. The other remedy is, go to the drugstore and get some "Night Nurse, its a bit expensive, but you get a damn good nights kip, might make your mouth a bit dry though. hope he feels better soon. Honey and lemon drink is what i use, and that what my mum used of all of her children. Drink lots of water and juice. Basically, that's about it and plenty of rest. Drink 2 shots of liquor. He won't get better but he will feel better, I had bronchitis but I still had to work. It didn't get me drunk it just made me feel good enough to function. Actually, I'm lying I drank a lot more than that but start there. Easy! Orange juice, sleep. |
