How to stop my sore throat becoming a cold?

Is there anything i can do to help reduce the chances of my sore throat developing into a cold?

If you already have a cold symptom you may already have a cold.
Drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest.
Consult a physician.
GOOD LUCK.

I use Manuka honey whenever I feel a sore throat coming up. Before I discovered Manuka I gurgled with salt water (cooked and cooled down) to kill the bacteria.

Manuka honey has unique antibacterial, antimicrobial and other health benefits. And it's softer for my throat. In my opinion it works better than salt water which also did it's job every time.

This way I never have a severe sore throat because I start treating it immediately and succesfully

Try these home remedies to stop sore throat:

- Stir a teaspoon of salt into1 pint of warm or room-temperature water and gargle with it every hour. Do not swallow it

- Mix a cup of juice of tomato and one teaspoon of powdered garlic and drink it.

- Add 1 teaspoon each of salt, baking soda, and sugar to half a glass of warm water and gargle with it.

- Add two garlic cloves to your salad.

- Mix 1 teaspoon chamomile in 1 cup of hot water and gargle with it.

- Mix 3 teaspoons of lemon juice with 3 teaspoons of honey in a glass of warm water and stir and use it as a gargle.

Well, eat a well-balanced diet, lots of liquids (especially hot ones like soup but not anything like coffee, tea is good though), rest plenty, and if necessary take some medicine. You should look up some herbal remedies and accupressure. They help me a lot, but that's just me. Take baths instead of showers if possible and relax.

I hope you get better...
but if you've already got symptoms of a cold then I'd suggest going to a doctor to prevent it from getting worse.
