Why can being out in the cold cause pneumonia? Short answer is , it can't. Pneumonia is caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, and mechanical compression. It is in no way caused by cold. studies show it doesnt. in fact it doesnt even cause colds. however changes in body temp, metabolism, immune system abilities, and general susceptibility to bacteria/viruses attacks make a person more prone to getting sick when they are exposed to prolonged adverse changes in the environment. . It can't Pneumonia is generally either chemical or viral. There are no more viruses out in the cold then there are inside in the warm. In many cases there are less. |
