Why do I get extremely cold after I eat? |
No matter what I eat, in what amount I eat, I always end up extremely cold after I finish eating. My lips turn a medium shade of blue, my cheeks get these light purple circles patches & I shiver uncontrollably. I can put on a coat, but the chill feels like it is from the center of my body. I think it takes about 45 minutes to go away. Yours sounds a bit extreme, but I get cold after I eat too. My best guess is that after you eat, your body has to concentrate on digesting the food. This requires blood to be sent to your stomach. Therefore, there is less blood to go to your extremities and you feel cold. Not to alarm you, but you could be having circulatory or heart problems. It also could be a metabolic problem. Either way, go to the doctor. |
