Why am i having a bad breath whenever i'm having colds? When you get colds, your body creates more mucous to fight against infection. Unfortunately most of this mucous is formed in the nasal cavity and must drain down the back of your throat. This mucous is no where near being "clean" and the bacteria builds up. This is why you should always "blow" your nose when you are sick. Try chewing some minty gum after you brush. Source(s): Nursing Student Bacteria in the mouth growing out of control. Possibility of an infection somewhere...that would make your breath go sour For one: you're probably breating through your mouth, which will cause bad breath. All that mucous and phlem you are coughuing up are part of your upper respiratory infection. |
