What are the herbs or foodstuffs that will build my immunity against catching colds? |
I am so prone to catch colds in winter, and i am tired of taking medications, is there a way to protect my body from catching colds using natural things?I will appreciate others' experience and tips regarding this subject, Thanks. Vitamin C, (you can take one an hour when you start feeling a cold come on... it's water soluble...) Zinc (one a day) and Echinacea. (tea is good, about four times a day) It really helped me last year. Also, if you are feeling congested. Crush a clove of garlic, put it in a pot of water and boil. When the steam comes up, breath it in. You'll release gunk in your lungs you never knew was there! Source(s): personal experience I think orange juice, garlic...that is all I can think of right now. good luck echinecea found any just about any store anywhere, its also sometimes coupled with goldenseal. during cold, flu or pollen season i also use zicam...it has a lot of options as to how to take it....nasal sprays, pills, sprays on throat etc...just pick the one right for you...but one thing with zicam because it has zinc in it its best to eat just a little something before taking it...sometimes it upsets the empty stomach. zinc, in the early stages of a cold will help get rid of it faster. As for not getting a cold, just eating healthy and drinking plenty of water will help to a degree. Also keep a supply of hand sanitizer around and wash your hands often, as this is the number one transmittal of the cold virus. Vitamin C Chlorella and Spirulina. You can't overdose on Vitamin C since it is water soluble but try not to overload your body, take it everyday instead of all at once. Chlorella and Spirulina are algae. To look more into the benefits of both of these check out: http://www.chlorellafactor.com Bring a cup of chlorine based bleach to boil. Pour the simmering hot bleach onto the plate. Hang your head over the fumes and take deep breathes. Your nose should clear after a few sessions. If all else fails, drink the bleach, boiled or unboiled. |
