My BF (we do not live together) is sick again!!! HE gets colds and stomach ailments so often! It's insane!

He is 43, works nights (with a total of 2 hrs daily commute), works on work projects at home, is taking two college courses towrd degree in computer science, lives with his parents (we are supposed to move in together in August). Both of us are in AA in recovery, he has 3.5 years, I have 21 months. I think he needs to go to day shift and get adequate sleep. We are hardly able to see each other because either he is sick, or one of his parents are! What if he is a workaholic? How do they act? He is recovering from mostly drugs, and is a very good person..his father was a workaholic.....

Night work has been linked to a weakened immune system, so that could be part of the problem. Frankly, it sounds like he has a lot on his plate, between working and school. On the other hand, you also need to consider the possibility that he is a bit of a hypochondriac.
It could be stress, or maybe a flu vaccine would help, that's what i did i got the shot, and it really helps.
since he is having stomach ailments and lots of colds, he may actually be suffering from a food allergy. Try and get him go and get tested for any potential food allergy
stress lowers the body's immune system. He needs a complete physical
he is physically exhausted. you can get sick if you overwork your body. he needs to get at least 6-8 hours of sleep!!
