Why s it that everytime after i drink orange, pineapple juice or the likes i got sore throat then colds, cough |
im experiencing it all the time after i drink those kind of juices even after i ate orange, citrus or pineapples and other citric foods. Also minty foods too. It gives me sore throat then colds then cough and sometimes fever You probably are not getting a true "cold" from these drinks. Colds are viral infections. What it sounds like you are experiencing is possably a food sensitivity, intolerance or allergy most likely brought on from citrus acids. You may need to be aware of this in other foods containing citrus - Good to discuss with your Dr. It could be the acidity... Citrus fruits have high acidity. u maybe allergic I had similar thing after drinking even slightly cold water - cured by taking one glass of ice water a day That is not possible to get colds, sore throats and coughing from these foods. Colds are caused by viruses. What you may be experiencing is an allergic reaction to citrus. Have an allergist check you for an allergic reaction to citrus and mint. wow someone else with the same problem...but with me its not every time but alot of times....honestly it is a real cold or sickness because it last for a week or more sometimes and i think its unsanitary conditions at the places making it myself. have u ever been out to belle glade florida and smelled the 2 or 3 mile area around the orange juice plant? naaaaaaasty! orange juice=good for you if its fresh not processed and handled by god only knows the condition of the immigrant workers around there.... I would bet money that it is acid reflux caused by the acidic foods. My son used to have acid reflux and at night he would reflux stomach acid into his airways which as you can imagine causes lots of respiratory problems. His chief complaint (aside from the respiratory trouble) was a sore throat. His doc started him on Pepcid which helped for quite a while (about 2 yrs) then it seemed to lose it effectiveness and he was switched to Zantac and Prevacid. It worked like a charm. I'd avoid those foods and/or try a stomach medicine and see if it helps. Also, elevate the head of your bed (books or boards or something under the legs). That way gravity helps keep the stomach acid down. Good luck! |
