Why is it that when the weather drops to the minus side of the thermometer we all catch colds and flu's?

I happen to think the vitamin D theory is the most logical explanation for the flu season being during winter. People are inside more during winter, they get less sunlight and vitamin D levels fall as a result. The othery big theory is that influenza is spread more readily because of more close contact with others during this time. It may a combination of both actually.
The theory is that we're all indoors with each other, breathing each other's air so much more than we do in the summertime. There's just a greater risk for infection to be passed on, especially airborne viruses.
I thinkit also has to do wityh the fact that your immune system is busy working on temperature regulation and can';t fight off infection as well. plus the fact that germs obviously travel moreon windy days
