Cold like symptoms... no cold?

Hi all. For the past 3 days I have had a sore throat, and a stuffed up head. I have not had a runny nose or a cough. I don't feel like I have a cold. Could this just be allergies?

Cold like symptoms don't necessarily mean that you always have all the symptoms at once. It could be a cold or allergies. Whether or not your lymph nodes are enlarged, soreness of your sinuses, how deep your cough is, and what your temperature are could all determine what you have. Whether or not you have allergies could be easily determined. Are you in a new environment? You could have allergies to that new environment. If not, and you have never had allergies before, then you probably do not have them now.
But you know who would know the answer to this question, a doctor! go see one for a final answer.
I could be just allergies or maybe even a sinus infection. A lot of times a sinus infection is accompanied by a sore throat due to drainage that you might not even be aware of. I would definitely check with your doctor if your symptoms persist for a week. In the mean time try some over the counter allergy pills first such as Claritin.
Probably is allergies, but if it continues for several days you may want the sore throat checked out for strept or mono.
