What is the best remedy for a cold?

It is far past cold and flu season but I can feel myself coming down with something. My throat has been scratchy all day and I have sneezed a couple of times. What do you use to prevent or get over a cold faster?

there's really no cure for the commun cold or flu, the available medications out there are only for symptomatic relief. get plenty of rest and drink lots of fluid. when i get the flu i personally take theraflu, that works great in relieving the muscle aches and stuffiness associated with it. take care.
Sleep and lots of Vitamin C. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!!!
you have a viral illness or allergy. treat your symptoms with advil/alleve, Claritin-D, lots of fluids, and rest. follow up with your doctor if you don't have any relief in 2 weeks.
The only way to prevent getting a cold (any type, to include flu and pneumonia, etc.) is to stay away from people, at least the ones that have the disease.
I use listerine, hard candy, honey with tea, Vick's vapor rub, etc. Sipping water frequently is also a big help. As soon as you feel a tickle or itch, start these procedures; after all, there is no cure.
