Can you catch a cold by going out in the rain?

Can you catch a cold by going out in the rain?

No, no, no. A cold is a virus and can only be caught by coming into contact with that virus. Going out in the cold may reduce your resistance to germs temporarily but will not give you a cold itself. Source(s): Cos i'm a smart asre!
i dont know the scientific answer but when i was little my parents said to never go out in the rain cause you might catch a cold. but i dont think its true though
Nahhh, only if your immunity is compromised. Keep up those vitamin Cs and zinc. Keep away from sick people too!
You catch colds from other people, not from rain or cold weather.
sort of, by being cold and wet you lower your imune system. However the cold virus is killed in the cold and actually lives inside in the warm. you would catch it by coming back into your warm house not directly from being outside.

thats why you get colds more often in the winter, our houses are kept warmer and people spend longer inside together so the virus can spread more easily
NO!! An old wives tale, complete rubbish.
A cold is a virus. It doesnt rain viruses does it?!
