Is having a cold breakfast bad for you? |
I always eat a cold breakfast in the morning shortly after I wake up, such as breakfast cereals with cold milk from the fridge and fruit salads and fruit juice, but recently a friend said to me that eating cold food in the mornings has a bad effect on the stomach which can lead to problems and complications later in life, and that you should really start the day with heated foods, such as warm milk on cereal and drink tea and coffee. I have never noticed any discomfort with this lifestyle, but I am concerned if this is going to lead to stomach and digestive problems later in life. Please advise. breakfast is good for you hot or cold... Your friend is suffering from 'old wives tales'. Cold or warm in the morning, a preference or whatever, No difference. Same-same. no...unless you eat loads of unhealthy cold food!!! By what you have said about the foods you eat there is nothing wrong with what you eat...although i don't know if it is definitley true what your friend said if you are worried just drink a hot/warm drink after your breakfast.... :) I think your friend is full of crap. I never ever heard anybody say that before. Having a consistent breakfast cold or not is what is important. The acid in the stomach is so powerful I can't imagine how having cold or hot food would make a difference. I know loads of people have cold breakfast like dairy but they also drink hot tea with it. I'm not suggesting anything and I don't think cold breakfast will cause any bad effect Nope. It's fine to have a cold breakfast, better that you're eating healthy. A nice combination of cereal and fruits won't hurt your health in the future. :) I think that it does not matter. My father does not eat breakfast, is 65 and in a perfect health. I know some people who have coffee, cheese, salami, etc, each morning. Some have problems some not. The most important is to eat the way that YOU feel good (and that you don't gain weight), because nobody can tell you what is a good breakfast or lunch or dinner is. I was always eating natural things, nothing precooked, aso. but when I was 43 I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. One of my medics asked me, if I had changed something in my life, like for ex. my nutrition. Is said to him No, but I would do it immediately, if he would tell me what to eat and if he would give me the guarantee that this would keep me healthy. He said that he couldn't tell me nor give me a guarantee. That's why I think you should do the way YOU feel best. By the way: I am OK now just by clinical treatment without special diet.
