Is it - 'Starve a cold, feed a fever' or,,,,? |
'feed a cold, starve a fever'? It is Starve a fever, Feed a Cold, but as some have pointed out, it's not sound advice. If you have a fever you may be too sick to hold down food, or if you have a bad cold it might hurt to eat, that's the only way it makes sense. Generally, whenever you're sick you should still be eating healthily, and most importantly you should be getting lots of fluids... water and clear, non-carbonated drinks. So really, it should be: provide adequate nutrition and hydration to a cold, and provide adequate nutrition and hydration to a fever. Here's a good link on the origin of the saying. Source(s): http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a5_... starve a cold, feed a fever dont kno, but did u hear chris benoit died Neither. Both are false, but its best to give any sick person nutrition. Starve a cold, feed a fever. I learned that from All in the Family. =] Ain't Archie Bunker a riot? feed a cold, starve a fever.....as long as you dont have a fever with the cold |
