Cold Remedy FAST?

I have this horrible cold and I am wondering what is the best medicine to take for it. I have been taking Advil Cold n Sinus but is Day Quil better? Any other ideas? I basically have a pounding earache, my nose is very stuffed and my throat is very red as I have been coughing all day. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You really have me worried babe...please go see your doctor, especially for the earache...it does sound like an infection. As far as a home remedy I like Tylenol Severe Cold & Flu or the Day-Quil/Nyquil gel caps. Stay in bed and get lots of clear fluids. For the earache Try blowing warm air in it with the hairdryer or lay on a heating pad on which ever side is hurting the most. That will help ease it a bit, but this really sounds like a case for your doctor to cure...please go before it gets any worse!

You might also try some Sucrets or Cepacol for your throat...I think the spray is best, but the lozenges will help some too!

Hope you are feeling better real soon! ;o)
night quil and some rest
As soon as you start to feel a cold coming.Start poppin coldeeze drop's. Sometimes it will kill it in 2 day's "work's awsome!"
The best thing considering your symptoms is more than likely Mucinex-D. It will help with your congestion and the coughing. Use the 12-hr rather than the 24-hr if you don't want to be tired throught the day because it's pseudophedrine will make you drowsy. The earache however doesn't fit in with normal cold symptoms. You probably have an ear infection as well as a cold and for that you would need antibiotic medication that would be stronger than what over the counter medication can offer you. So, in other words, you really need to see a doctor in order to determine whether it is a simple cold or more so that he can prescribe you the proper medication for your symptoms. Try the Mucinex-D first and if it doesn't go away within a week, consult your doctor.
The earache is probably caused by the stuffy nose as is the sore throat. You can get some water and bring it to near boiling. Remove it from the heat and pour it into a glass bowl (cause it hold the heat longer). You can set it on your floor and put a towel over your head and your head over the bowl. If you put you put your face too close it will burn you. Make sure you are covered well to hold in the moisture and breath really deeply. You can do that until you notice the water is just warm. if you do that a few times a day or every time you begin to feel really stopped up it will be gone within 2 days. it will help with the headache caused by the stuffiness as well. Another alternative is to throw a sheet over your head while you sit with the water on the floor with you. That way you aren't likely to burn yourself. Breath deeply and don't be afraid to come out for air if you need it. For a little extra put a few drops of essential oil into the water or a bit of vapor rub.
Awww your just getting worse now...I feel so bad. I personally like Day-Quill and Ni-Quill the most. but for every person it is diff. I def. think you should go see the doc you need amoxacillan! I hope you start to feel better. Steam also makes me feel better to! GL
