Is it safe to take a nyquil with 100mg of serequel before bed, i have a cold and am having trouble sleeping? |
i am a 20yr old female First of all, the nyquil is total garbage. It will lengthen your cold and only give you a little relief, but your body will suffer the consequences. All the drugs used for colds from your pharmacy are designed to relieve some symptom, not cure the problem. Why not get rid of the cold fast and not deal with all those problems? You can do this. If you feel yourself coming down with a cold, you should do the following and you will not have the cold the next day. 1. Take 1 to 2 nucleotides every waking hour at the first sign of a cold. 2. Take 1 tsp. of colostrum powder in the morning and 1 tsp. at night. 3. Drink lots of steam distilled water. If you get a cold and have it for a few days, the above still works, but takes an extra day, at most 3 days to be completely rid of the symptoms. There is one thing you can buy from the drug store that really helps you sleep and that is "Breathe Right" strips. This allows you to breath freely without any medication. The nucleotides and their place in the immune system was discovered about 20 years ago by some Swedish researchers and they have been using this in Europe for years. It really works and again, American drug companies would rather you keep the cold for a while and treat it with all the expensive treatments. If you build up your immune system, you will not get colds, flu, etc. I have not had a cold or flu in about 5 years now. I used to get about 4 to 5 per year. I never get flu shots because they are terrible for your immune system and contain huge amounts of mercury as well as, many other harmful elements. I would also be taking a quality probiotic each and every day. This will help build your immune system. Stay away from all antibiotics. Source(s): many years of nutritional studies - B.A. Biology & Chemistry The Nyquil should be enough! I wouldn't mix anything with that stuff, if that's not helping you falling asleep with your cold I would get some therapy . I really wouldnt recommend it. Remeber that Nyquill has quite a bit of alcohol in it. Combining that with an Rx sleeping medication is dangerous. Chose one or the other. it wouldnt hurt you, but i dont recommend it. youll wake up with one hell of a hangover (as in being extremley drowsy all day) but hey, if you have a cold, then sleeping all day might be a good thing =] personal experience Is there a 24 hour pharmacy near you anywhere? If so call the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist. I wouldn't take any chances. Sereguel is potent stuff. Or if your Dr has an answering service have them page him/her so you can ask. It's important enough that you won't be bothering them. Good luck :) |
