I take one hydorcodine aday and i'm 20 weeks pregnant. Can I stop cold turkey without hurting my baby? |
I take a half in the morning and a half in the evening. This hydrocodine is a 7.5 mg. I'm scared to tell my Doctor because I dont want anyone to think I am a bad person. I just want my baby to be heathy. So far everything has been good. If you really care about your baby then you will consult your doctor. He is there to help you not judge you. I am sure he has seen and heard far worse. Don't wait, just ask him. Good luck. I agree 100% with Marie. Please tell your doctor immediately. what are you waiting for? tell your doctor you say you don't want to hurt your baby??????? get real Why are you taking the medication in the first place? You need to see your doctor and talk to him/her about this. You are doing your baby more harm by hiding stuff from your doctor as they will need to know all this stuff for your notes and for your delivery etc. Good luck You need to talk to your doctor ASAP! Your baby is already addicted to codeine/ hydorocodone. If you quit cold turkey, you can damage the baby because of withdrawls. This is the same as any other form of drug/ alcoholism addiction. HOWEVER, if you don't quit, your baby risks more and more damage, and will be born dependent on codeine. If you talk to your doc now, chances are, they'll help you get off the hydrocodone and be glad you've told them your problem. If you wait, and your baby is born an addict, you can lose the baby to child services... your choice. |
