I think I'm getting a cold? How can I stop it from progressing? |
My step mum has a cold and I think I caught it from her today. I have a plugged and runny nose. Are there any ways to stop my cold from progressing? Elderflower tea with honey and lemon, at least 2 cups to start with, drink more with every meal, heavy overdoses of Vitamin C, (take 5 daily doses at least for 3 days), Echinacea is also supposed to be helpful. There is a ready made mixture "Dr Stuart's Elderflower and Lemon" available in pharmacies and health food shops. The best thing to cure your early symptoms is steaming your head with peppermint, sage, thyme and eucalyptus. To start with you can use what you find in the spice cupboard. drink vitamin c. Tea with lemon and honey. Lots of rest nothing to straining. Also a hot bath to relax the muscles. I know when I am starting with a cold because I always get a sore throat first. I then eat loads of oranges or anything loaded with vitamin C. This doesn't stop you getting the cold but when I've done this I don't suffer with it at all, I get a little congested and then a bit of a runny nose but that's it it doesn't bother me. |
