Is it normal to have a cold for more than 2 weeks?

i have an on-off funny nose,cough
and kinda of a sore throat, its not *sore*,but its weird when i swallow.I dont have allergys,Or do i?

i went to the doc. when i had an ear ache,he noticed my cold, and gave me amoxicilln for it.

but i still have it,what should i do?

amoxicillin is an antibiotic....antibiotics are designed to kill bacteria NOT VIRUSES, which is what causes a cold. You should not have been given an antibiotic if you truly have just a cold! The antibiotic actually weakens your immune system, so this is most likely why you still have it. Go get some probiotics from your local health food store, or get some Kefir at your local grocer or health food store. It will help replenish some of your good and beneficial bacteria ( which were killed off by taking the antibiotic, and are what help keep our immune system healthy). Good luck....you may want to find a doctor who will take a bit more time with you and not be so quick to write a prescription!
colds is not normal!
If you have trouble swallowing you could have a bunch of bumps in your throat. I forgot what it's called, but I get it a lot. It hurts really bad to swallow, but otherwise it doesn't really hurt.
