Why do i get cold sores? |
i never had a cold sore in my life but in like the last 3 months i had like 2 and im not sure why? i havent been like sick or anything. any ideas? what causes them? Cold sores are caused by the virus known as herpes simplex type I (HSV-1). After the first episode of the disease, the virus lies dormant in the nerves or skin around the original area until something sets the virus off into another eruption. Colds, flu, and even stress can cause you to have an outbreak of cold sores. Why you have an outbreak at one time of life and not another is not clearly understood. Also they just stay visible for like 10 days or more but you can buy a type of cream that can less that period to 4 or 5 days. Just go to a local pharmacy and ask them if they sell something for cold sores. The one I use is Abreva. Source(s): http://www.emedicinehealth.com/cold_sore... Sorry to be blunt, but have you gone down on anyone recently? They are caused by a herpes virus. You probably picked it up by sharing a drink with someone, or some other activity where saliva is exchanged. It's doubtful you picked it up from oral sex, because if your partner was having an outbreak I highly doubt you would be performing oral sex on him/her. But it is possible to spread herpes from the mouth to the genitals, so if you have cold sores in your mouth, be careful! It is a herpes virus. It may have been carried through you whole family. It is nothing to be ashamed of. When I was in school i was teased all the time about my cold sores. I had them when ever I got nervous. Or it seemed Like all the time. But It is nothing you have done. You were born with it. unless you have been in the sun alot. Sunburn or really dry lips can cause them too. sorry sweetie but a cold sore is a form of herpes! |
