Why would carbohydrate-restricted diets lead to colon cancers? |
Why would carbohydrate-restricted diets lead to colon cancers? I havent heard that, but I would imagine that if you are restricting your carbohydrates severely, you would be getting no fiber in your diet to help the food move along. Laying around in your innards would cause food to rot and cause many problems besides cancer. If you restrict your carbohydrates for dieting reasons, you should be limiting root veggies and highly processed foods, especially grains and overly sweet fruits only. That still leaves many things like salad veggies, beans, fruits like apples etc. because you are denying your body escential nutrients. restricting and not eating carbs will constipate you, that can't be good. You actually become dehydrated when you don't eat carbs. carbs help your body to retain the water it needs. |
