Been diagnosis with flat top ply lops in the colon, is this a future sign of cancer?

By 鈥渇lat top鈥?do you mean sessile polyps? If so, these cannot be removed during a colonoscopy. They should be removed as they can become cancerous and it is not a simple procedure. I hope they are in the same segment of the colon. You really need to talk to your doctor..

Polyps in the colon CAN develop into cancer...some do, some don't. So any that are found are usually removed (very minor procedure, often done at same time as colonoscopy)

If they are removed, they will be examined for any signs of cancer to be sure no further treatment is needed.

But generally, having them removed is the only action needed. Well, that and regular colonoscopies in the future....not much fun....but WAY more fun than colon cancer!!

IF (and it's a big if) you have cancer, colon cancer is VERY treatable when caught in the early stages....it just is not often caught in stage 1/2, because there are rarely symptoms until stage 3. If you have a cancerous polyp...that would most likely be 1/2 and surgery only would be the most likely treatment.

However....you shoud talk to you doctor and get the complete picture....I don't have any medical qualification....just a husband who had stage 3 colon cancer last year. He's healthy again now :-)
