My brother and law.became very ill.he went to the doctor.he has colon cancer.and it has spread to his liver.?

the cancer has spread to his lung and liver.how long can he live with it.

Normally when colon cancer spreads, the first other organ it goes to is the liver. A number of such patients have been cured at that point. Once spread has gone elsewhere the outlook is much poorer for survival. Treatment is then usually limited to chemotherapy and its effect. Depending upon the size of the tumor spread and other organs that may also have the cancer it's hard to say whether he'd live more than 6 months to 2 years. His surgeon or cancer doctor (oncologist) would be the best one to ask. Maybe your sister knows?
