Husband has just been diagnoised w/ colon cancer, just had surgery, got allwhat can I expect, what can be done So sorry you are dealing with this. I understand the shock that you must feel. It's hard to answer your question without knowing what stage and grade the cancer was in? In general it sounds good that surgery removed all visible signs of the cancer? Anyway, here are some websites to answer some of your questions and perhaps help you out with support groups for colon cancer: NCI: Colon and Rectal Cancer http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/types... American Cancer Society: Colon and Rectal Cancer http://www.cancer.org/docroot/cri/cri_2x... Medline Plus: Colon Cancer http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/... Colorectal Cancer Network http://www.colorectal-cancer.net/... Colon Cancer Alliance http://www.ccalliance.org/ Cancer Care http://www.cancercare.org/ Best wishes. Source(s): Experience. Teen son diagnosed with stage IV abdominal sarcoma. chemo, radiation and then drug therapy and prayers take care of him or dose he still have it my father is a 9 year survivor.. he does have a colostomy. my father had chemo and radiation before the tumor was small enough to remove, it had shrunk 75% and he was opened front and back to remove the tumor. some colostomy's can be reversed but my dad has his forever. it has been a big life change for my parents but thank god we still have him. colon cancer is not a death sentence, i know how you feel, it is very scary and heart wrenching..It will take some adjustments in your life style but each and every day you have together will be a blessed one. god bless you and your family. HELLO ALL I CAN TELL YOU IS GIVE HIM ANY THING HE WANTS AND LET HIM DO ANY THING HE CAN YOU AND HIM HAVE A BATTLE ON YOUR HANDS I CAN RELATE TO YOUR POSSITION YOUR FREIND ANDY Well I think the first thing that has to be done is to find out if the cancer is gone. If not, you can get him to try emu oil gel caps, emu oil kills cancer cells and is safe to take. One should always consult their doctor before trying anything new. |
