Emergency contraception. is it possible to still be pregnant?

after taking this within 12 hours of contraception accident ?? my period has come, but is abnormally light, i feel bloated and very very queasy. this was 2 weeks ago. thanks

Yes it is not 100% effective but you have taken it pretty soon, so it is more unlikely that you are pregnant.
I have used this once in my life after an accident, and my next period was very light and I also felt very sick, my periods did not return to normal for 3 months with lots of light bleeding in between periods.
If you are worried do a test, but I doubt it would be positive.

yes there is a small chance you could still be pregnant. No contraception is completely 100% reliable. The morning after pill is around 94 - 97% effective however the longer you leave it the higher chance of pregnancy. emergency contraception has to be taken within 72 hours of having sex. Following taking it you should expect a heavy period and stronger pains too. You should definitely take a test and if in doubt you should also make an appointment with your GP. Hope this helps.

yes it is still possible to get pregnant. i believe it has about a 10% failure rate. i would take a test. Obviously the pill is a hormonal one so it could just be the stroung hormones that have affected you.

Well they reckon the only 100% way to not get pregnant is to not have sex, so I guess if you have had sex then its still possible...

p.s. If you feel anything is abnormal you should see you doctor...

Yes. No form of contraception is completely fool proof. Even emergency contraception is not 100% effective, more like 98%.

Do a pregnancy test.
