Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses...Is Contraception Morally Wrong?

The Catholic Church seems to think birthcontrol is wrong, JW's say its okay to use birthcontrol?

I personally think birthcontrol is against God will, I mean seamen contains potential life, What do you think?

Any sex outside of wedlock between a husband and his own wife is sin. Life begins at conception so birth control is murder.

The regulation of births represents one of the aspects of responsible fatherhood and motherhood. Legitimate intentions on the part of the spouses do not justify recourse to morally unacceptable means (for example, direct sterilization or contraception).
Thus the innate language that expresses the total reciprocal self-giving of husband and wife is overlaid, through contraception, by an objectively contradictory language, namely, that of not giving oneself totally to the other. This leads not only to a positive refusal to be open to life but also to a falsification of the inner truth of conjugal love, which is called upon to give itself in personal totality. . . . The difference, both anthropological and moral, between contraception and recourse to the rhythm of the cycle . . . involves in the final analysis two irreconcilable concepts of the human person and of human sexuality

If you really believe your semen contains potential life, then I guess for you, wasting your semen on the sheets is not allowed, right? That is to say, any form of sex that does not result in pregnancy, but does result in ejaculation, is wrong. Best answer. I believe the morality of sex is a personal issue between a person and his Creator. You apparently have a much higher standard of morality than most.

it depends on the kind of contraception. obviously to someone who believes the bible, sex outside of marriage is wrong and so contraception for someone unmarried is wrong too unless it it medically necessary. some kinds of contraception work by preventing a fertilized egg from implanting, those I think are morally wrong. others work just by preventing an egg from being released or preventing the sperm from reaching that far. it depends on the reasons. some are just selfish and use it because they value their career or freedom over children. some use it because it is medically necessary. yes it can be medically necessary. my wife has had to use it to protect the lining of her uterus because at one point they found precancerous cells there. we are to take care of the bodies God gave us and sometimes to do that contraception is necessary. also remember that we are under grace, not the law, that means that contraception isn't something that will keep you away from the Lord. for some it may well be God's will that they use it for one reason or another where for others it may be His will that they don't.

No, there is nothing wrong with birth control within marriage, God has not set a rule, that you must have as many children as you have a potential to have, the number of children, a married couple decide to have, is left solely up to them, and it is better to be a wanted child than an unwanted child, for every child deserves to be loved, and cared for.
But it is wrong to have sex without being married, because God reserved sex only for married persons, so if you're saying that birth control for unmarried persons is wrong, then I wouldn't disagree for they, God says, shouldn't be having sex, and so, shouldn't need birth control. Personally I would rather go, with what, God says, and not what man says.

A clarification.

The Catholic Church believes that God allows natural forms of birth control.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control is against the will of God.

With love in Christ.

I personally think that I would rather have people using birth control than having abortions. Besides, I enjoy being with my husband and I think its important for bonding and showing our love, but we cannot afford a baby.

So I will be using birth control until we can afford to raise a baby in a happy-well funded home.

I think it's good. especially nowadays in a world that's so scientifically advanced. We don't live in times where religion holds the only answers to life. I think it's better to prevent a pregnancy when you are not in the right situation to raise a child and give it everything it needs than to bring a child in the world and not have the means to take care of it properly

Contraception isn't the sin. Adultery and Fornication are the sins. God said that a married couple should not deprive one another. So if you are in such a relationship but don't feel like having kids, go for it.

So are you against masturbation too?
And uncontrollable wet dreams?

What is so wrong about being a safe, sexual being?

And are you comparing murder (truly morally wrong) with contraception? Are you serious!?

I think if God wants you to have a baby then you will have a baby! It is not wrong. What is wrong is having sex before marriage, if you are married then I think God will let you make that decision for yourself!!!

I think you have serious mental issues. So by your thinking you surely will never have sex unless you are doing it to have a child. I mean anything else would be utter hypocrisy.

no stop letting people brainwash you.would you want people unfit for children having children? 2 dummies make dummy children

No God expects us to plan to have kids not just have them and not plan for it.

I think it is against God, but "people" just like unprotected sex better.

what do you want to see children starving to death???

contraception's are just prevention not killing,,,

No

potential life isnt life
its ok to use them

no we have brains to use them....My kids were both planned..
